Q: “What’s the biggest thing you’ve taken away from your activities in high school?”

“There’s people where you might think you have nothing in common with, so you don’t want to go speak to them, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. When you go and speak to someone who has different interests than you, it opens a whole new world. I think that’s what I liked about joining clubs, because people who join clubs have their own set of interests that maybe you couldn’t have explored prior to meeting them.”

Follow-up Q: “With all your experience, what do you imagine your future being like down the road?”

“Well, it depends how far down the road. In five years, I hope to be on my first year at law school. In 10 years, I hope to have bought a home. In 15, I hope to have held my first public office. And then that’s kind of how I view it. My dream in the end, of course, is to—right now, it’s to be governor of New York, but if the world needs me, if the country needs me, I’ll run for president.”
